Hey everyone, I decided today to make myself a Sump, So i got my pipe for my cyphon and cut it in half, And i am syphoning water from the tank into a bowl, and i have a filter in the bowl with the other cut pipe going back into the tank.
I set it up just over 1 hour ago, And there are quite a few spots of dirt, laying at the bottom, Was this a good idea for my tank? i think so, because it means all the dirt and waste will sit at the bottom of the bowl, not in the tank.
Any Comment or Ideas for me??

i dont know how thats gonna work out. u need a overflow. u cant just syphon the water with a tube cuz the water level will gradually increase or decrease.

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen. :nilly: You can't just siphon water from the tank into a bowl and then pump it back to the tank. Well I take that back you can but it sure isn't a good way to do it. If the pump stops the siphon will continue and empty the tank at least down to the end of the siphon tube all over the floor. Hope it's a small tank. :)

What are you guys talking about??
He said the dirt is in the bowl now and not in the tank...

Even though all the water is going to be on the floor sooner or later there is dirt in the bowl!!!
