Box turtle or no?

Yep, that's a Box Turtle all right. A Three-toed Box Turtle (Terrapene Carolina triunguis) to be exact! That is the typical color for the subspecies. But males can have bright yellow legs and some splashes of orange on their heads. Their shells are usually plain but can have a few yellow spots here and there.

I had a pretty nice looking pair at one time. The male looked a lot like the one in the picture above, but mine had lots of bright yellow on the legs and neck. The nice skin colors makes up for their dull shells.
