This morning my son asked me what Boxing Day was. My answer was I'm not really sure Google it. Then I thought with all the members on here from The UK and Canada why noy ask for some real answers. What is it? What's the history behind it? How do you celebrate it and or observe it? Do you do anything special?

What I've been told (on my frequent visits to Victoria) is that back in the old days, it was basically Christmas for the servants. Since they had to work and serve the families they work for on Christmas, the day after was their little celebration. Now a days, it's Canada's version of our Black Friday. Though since I'm not from either of those countries, they could have just been pulling my chain.

Here, people celebrate the holy Stephanus. It's also supposed to remind people of the spreading of the word of Jesus' birth.

It's basically Canada's version of black friday, though we now have black friday here too.
