If you don't mind me asking, why do you even want to know? I'm under the impression these guys haven't been bred in captivity.

Oh no I don't want to breed one! I just am curious and sometimes I have a preference to have a certain sex of certain species of animals.

Wow! Thanks for this! I've got like 6 ropefish in my "swamp" now. They move through the swampy substrate like it's water and form holes/tunnels everywhere, it's pretty neat. I wonder if in this kind of environment with the low PH mentioned I might discover mine spawning too! (in..uh..10 years or so.)

Rope fish are actually easier than most think. I've read numerous times when they were bred.

COOL!I'd like to see a video of this!! I had a rope fish once, I came home from work and he was laying on the floor (out of the tank) dead. And he was so fun...
