I just found this on one of my BP. Anyone know what this is and what I need to do to cure it? I have never had any of my fish get a disease before and I am tripping out! Sorry for the crappy pic. He wouldn't sit still.

I don't know off hand, but I do know this.
If that fish is not treated ASAP, it will start getting these black marks on it.For some reason BP's bleach/wash out and get alot of black on them when they get sick.Yet I never see this in their Amphilophine or Heros counterparts.

Not sure what direction to take here besides qt, add salt, and raise temp. Looks like it is getting worse...any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The salt and temp raise are excellent choices.Do those asap.

One of my BPs has exactly the same lesions, over a few areas on his head. He got into a fight with another mature male and the flapping skin developed abscesses underneath. It's a shame because he's my first and favorite parrot.

Was yours in a fight? I would think salt and temp raise are the best bets for now. Good luck :)

No, he wasn't in any type of fight. He was in a 55g with another parrot and some rainbows. It is clearing up a bit, but when one hole closes and heals, another one opens. I just don't know what in the world is going on or how to fix it!

when the white stuff is gone, it leaves a pit in his head. I will try to get a new pic today.

my BP got this and it cleared on its own, but of course, i recommend temp boost and salt, it appears to be fungus, so Pimafix might do the job.
