I re-homed all of the fish in my 55 except for my 4 inch BP. I would like to put another type of cichlid in with her (pretty sure it's a her). what are your suggestions? Or should I just get another BP and a small school of tetras and call it full?

Salvini can be really nasty.
I'd go with another bp and some dithers.

BP's can be fairly anti social as well... You need something that can hold his own.. If not a salvini then maybe a Dempsey.

I'd just build a community around her, mine was fairly placid with everything; as long as it was smaller than her and not a cichlid. She wouldn't look twice at cory's, tetra's (bigger than neons), pleco's etc; I then tried adding another BP and she beat the s*it out of it

There are lots of cichlids that will do great with a BP. A severum will work very well as they'll keep the blood parrot in its place. Another BP, con, or jack can work but they may bicker a bit if there are no dithers. I do not recomend a salvini though. It is a beast.

My bp are large and so they're with a Midas Jack Dempsey and FH just be careful make sure the bp are muh bigger to start out

she's about 4 inches long now. in the past I kept her with gouramis and she ignored them entirely. same with danios and african knives. the gouramis I had for literally 6 years and they were full size adult blues that died of old age. she never looked twice at them.

But because the tank is only 55 gallons I'm a bit iffy on what else to put in. I've always though JD's and convicts were cool cichlids, but my water is soft here and I don't want to put central americans in if the water is going to disagree with them.

That's a solid argument but my JD and parrot have been around for about 7 years and I'm gonna admit my water ain't the best for Central American cichlids

Bichers a good idea (smaller species)
Try another bp?
Could try to get a compromise on the water and try a JD but might want a slightly bigger tank maybe (parrots can get pretty big my largest is 8 inches)
How strong is ur filtration (they can get dirty)
Diet? And pictures plz

Here's my current set up but I'm giving away my female Midas after 7 years she's just too tough on the other fish
