I found some Bps for sale. The owner has 9 and then a bunch of fry. They claim that the fry are of the parrots and that they did breed.

I know finding fertile males is very hard but not impossible. What are the odds that they did breed. And should I get them? If I could establish a setup breeding blood parrots I think I could get some decent $$ as they are popular here and hard to find.

I don't have then yet. I will probably buy all the adults. I hope I don't get tricked. And the pull one over on me. I hope they actually breed and breed for me.

How much should I pay for all 9?

depends on size.

If I found parrots breeding for sale , I would buy all of them AND the fry.

I strongly believe if you bought all the parrots you could, even online then you wouldn't find a breeding pair.

But
I think the owner is just fooling with you so you can take them as a group

Okay. Well what should I do. I can either buy all 9 for $70 and find out, or I could buy some fry and maybe get a fertile male, or even see if the fry are bp. Or just pass.

If they are indeed breeding then whats the chances that the fry a fertile aswell?

Does he keep other cichlids with them or only parrots.

Can he point to you which 2 are the parents?

I had a fertile breeding blood parrot pair an selling the fertile parrot male 7" for dirt cheap $40-60 and nobody bought him. I gave him away because I was overwhelmed by too many beautiful fish.

this parrot thing, seriously ppl talk blah blah blah it's so rare yayayah but when I had one for sal at giveaway prices nobody buys them. same with every other fish. You'll only sell a few here and there and the rest you gotta raise and maintain. Then either cull or load em at the lfs for low trade in value store credit. Not worth it.

It's not worth it to me even if all the males are fertile.

We got all females laying eggs, and we got Midas/red devils for them. That make better fish already.
