I just bought a 5 inch texas cichlid a few days ago and I put him in with my 7 inch red texas. After about an hour I had to take him out because he already had some damaged finnage. My red texas is not a fan of company, except for 1 convict cichlid I've had with him a while that he doesn't bother. Anyway I moved my texas cichlid in with my BPxTexas to avoid him getting any further punishment. It's been about three days and they look like they may be starting to nest. The BPxtexas is only about 4 inches and I'm definitely not sure if it's fertile. I have some pics but they picked smack dab in the middle of the tank with as many things blocking them as possible for me to get a good pic but here they are anyway:
