Hello I'm in need of some advice on how I should proceed with this repair.
Tank mesurements are
93 long(back)
19 1/2 tall
And just under 38 deep at the widest section.
Its a irregular half octagon shaped 6 sided glass tank.
Note there is no top braces this is how the tank was made.

On Sunday morning I was watching the game and heard a pop, seconds later major leak.
I've included some pics.
So the pop was the trim snapping, the bead on the seam seperated resulting in the leak.
The gap between the two glass pieces has separated at the top.
Please what method is best to realign/brace for repair.

Looks to me like the pressure pushing outward is a bit much for normal silicone seals, so some euro braces on top might be called for.
On my tank, after a couple earth quakes loosened up the seems, and after resealing, I have added a couple C-Clamps as permanent fixtures.
Not very aesthetic, but something to add peace of mind. And I just added plants that will eventually cover over the clamps as camouflage.

I've seen a few tanks that use threaded stainless rods and brackets instead of bracing. Advantage is it leaves the top wide open and looks pretty nice, I think. Might be easier and quicker than euro bracing if you happen to have a good hardware store nearby or can weld your own brackets.

Thx for the replies,I was thinking top brace but. Will have the same issue is the silicone fails again.
I don't see any bowing issues,it just gave out when the plastic trim piece broke.
By the way the tank is designed at least two feet on both sides would be covered unless the middle is cut outwhat clamp are available the keep it in place?
Any links to the trim/brace mentioned ? thx all

Plz excuse the errors I couldn't find the edit button

IMHO its a complete rebuild. not easy on a square tank if not done before, tank with odd angles not something I would attempt unless not matter it work or not and just trying to do it. I think a new tank may be in order.

looking at the glass it does not appear milled for an angle joint.
