I'm looking into purchasing an acrylic aquarium from someone locally. The tanks' barely been used and has never seen water for any prolonged period of time.

The dimensions of the tank are 3'L X 2'W X 2'H, and it's constructed from 0.7" thick acrylic and has no bracing. I like the dimensions, but I feel like 0.7" seems a little think for a tank of that size with no bracing and I'm worried there's going to be significant bowing.

What do you guys think?

Check our the acrylic thickness calculator. It does a good job and is actually pretty conservative

Tank should be made out of 1". Cyro calculator comes out around .87" but you always round up. 3/4" will have deflection (bowing) but could be safe given the seams are in good shape. Look for crazing (cracks) in the seams and white separation. The tough thing with rimless tanks is that you can't do the Weld on #40 tip and pour that well to reinforce.

have pictures?
