Brachyplatystoma juruense

hi,

I recently bought 2 of the above mentioned cat. i have them in a seperate tank at the moment until big enough to put in with other fish.

they are about 5"

I have been feeding on frozen prawns(fish are good eaters)

when i got up this morning one fish was dead with its mouth wide open, i had to goto work so got wife to remove the fish. Im not sure if it had anything in its mouth, are these fish aggressive towards each other? or could it have choked on a prawn?

with the one i have left it is intended to put it into my cichlid tank, which currently has a coulpe of cubans, pike, and lima shovelnose cat. any advice/warnings?

could have choked. check to see if it had any dammage done to the body. or perhaps something else killed it.

the only catfish on catfish death that I have seen other than eating, beating the other to death, is death by spine. I had a tsn that stabbed it's fellow lima with one of it's spines. It died in a matter of mins.
