Picked this guy up yesterday and he's all of 2in. All available looked like this fish and didn't have patterns. Is this fish like tigrinis at this age? Patternless? Never had a jur this small but got him for 15.00 so if I can put size on him it's a awesome deal. So far has taken bloodworms. May try mystis shrimp this evening. Let me know you guys think? Last photos are when he first acclimated to growout.

They don't have any pattern until they start getting bigger. I've grown a few and usually start them off with live blood or black worms.

Good to know. Thanks. I've had 2 others in the past and got both of them around 5in mark and pattern was already there.

The ID looks right to me. I too just have gotten 10 from snookn21 three weeks ago, also at ~2". They had / have a vague pattern but I am not too surprised with yours either.

Good looking little jur.I have always had more success with these than I have with tigrinis cats,I have a flash zebra variant currently.Jurs seem to be much more hardy.

Thanks. I've had good luck with both species. My current tig is 13" and I had a jur a year ago around the 10". Both great cats imo.

Hopefully, eventually but not now. First off they are with 6 GATF and I can't use flash with the GATF. Second the jurs don't school, you know of course, but engage in skirmishes when they bump into each other, so no group shots are possible as they are scattered all over their 240 gal. No tight, loving family photoshoot :) Third, I missed 1-2 feedings with the GATF one morning and they killed the smallest jur, so down to 9 and there went in a divider and two smallest went behind the divider.
