So it appears that I might have to down size soon and currently debating on which fish to keep or not. One of the fish up for debate is my 8" Brachyplatystoma Rousseauxii aka Dourado Catfish. Should I keep or sell? What do you guys think?DSC01537.JPG

hi, i think you should keep it, i have got 1 piece at 6" too...nice silver shine
however, they always bang their snout into the sides of the tanks...

Just a question but if youre downsizing then how can you keep the Brachyplatystoma Rousseauxii or the Tig.
These fish will grow to 72" & 30" respectively.

The Rousseauxii should go.
They are really not suitable for most home aquariums.
I think it isn't fair to keep them in anything but HUGE ponds.

You always hear of them wall banging, this is (IMO) due to lack of room.

I got a Juvi once that was sold as something else. Once I correctly ID'd it (thanks to the guys at PC) I felt responsible to move it on to someone who can give it the home it deserves.
It is now at about 70cm and living happily in the Centre Of Culture Aquarium in Nagoya.

The pictures in this thread look like it has a dodgy snout already?

unless you can house it properly you should let it go. that cat will be enormous in no time.
