Brachyplatystoma Rousseauxii

Earlier this year Snookin got some Brachyplatystoma Rousseauxii and Naturally at the time I didn't have the tank space ... isn't that the way it always goes ... any way I seen they seemed to sell pretty quick and was wondering if anyone who bought one would care to give an update ?

I am really curious to see what kind of growth rate, temperment, any color changes ?

I am hoping that they become avaiable again in a couple months I am going to be setting up a catfish pond and want some friends for my Rtc x Tsn

Good Luck. I waited 3 years before someone brought them in. Growth rate is typical of any Brachyplatystoma species. Maybe an 1" a month if you are lucky. They are fine with anything that doesn't fit in their mouth and isn't their own kind. Color changes.... Well I'm not sure if it's a mood thing or timing through out the day but mine go from a beautiful bright silver color to an even nicer metallic violet/purple color. If you do find one I hope you have big plans in the future for it. These fish gets larger than people. Mine are going to be donated to our public aquarium when they get too large for me to house. Living out the rest of their days with B. filamentosum and Arapaima in a 40,000 gallon aquarium.
