i am doing a brackish tank and suddenly something hit me
do i treat the filtration like a marine tank or a fw tank or something totally differant
i currently have it running like a fw tank
i use sumps on my tanks and in this one i have mech, ( 3 grades of sponge) bio ( bio media similar to lava rock)
chemical ,carbon only
and coral sand for hardness and ph stability
question is , is this right or should i drop the mech as its a dirt harbourer and add purigen or similar or should i ad purigen and keep the mech ,
also should i run a skimmer i cant afford a big one but could fit a nano v2 then ad to it later (either another v2 or bigger)
tank is currently low brackish at 1.004 (will be high as 1.018 eventually)
and is 50 gals sump is 15 gals but can hold more media
