First off i'm new here so hello to all and thanks in advance for any help that you provide. I have had a brackish water 30g tank going now for about 2 1/2yrs consisiting of 2 morays (g. tile) now approx. 16 in each, 2 knight gobies (down to one now...one got eaten i think) around 3 in, ghost shrimp and guppies as feeders. Eventually within the next few months i hope to move them all into a 128g tank. My question (or at least one of them is) their current tank is on my headboard of my bed in my bedroom where there isn't alot of traffic:( and they are still rather shy. When i move them into the bigger tank it will be out in the living room where there is more traffic and commotion....whether it be people or my dogs which consist of 2 great danes, 1 german shepard and a noisy rat terrier (all of them very curious about fish tanks as there are goldfish tanks already in the living room with nose prints on them. Getting to the point...will moving them out where there is more going on strees them out and possibly kill them or will the fact that they will have their fav hiding spots and plenty more help with this and will they eventually get used to it enough to come out where they can be seen? Also i was wondering if there will be enough room to comfortably house a small group of monos(and if so how many do you recommend as i have heard if you have to few they will pick on each other) and possibly some more knight gobies?

Thank you again for any help you can offer and sorry for rambling on so. My avatar is one of my morays when i first got him at about 11 inches in his fav fake mangrove tree.

thanks,
Mindy

Dear Mindy,
May i suggest going in for a batfish....yes you read right.Batfishes like Platax teira and Platax orbicularis would do beautifully in a brackish water tank.you could also add some other fishes like the silver scats and zebra blennies.Make sure you get a juvenile batfish and introduce it correctly to your aquarium. You would need to maintain a salinity of around 1.010-1.015 however have the salinity at around 1.015 when you get the batfish and slowly reduce it to around 1.010-1.012.And add some rocks and seagrass if possible.Mangroves would be a good idea too!
