Hi Everyone,

I am upgrading my 55 gallon brackish tank to a 125 gallon. I only have two Columbian Catfish at this time, about 7" and 8". I plan on continuing a sand substrate, however I would really like to add some live plants. They work so well and look so nice in my freshwater tanks, I'd really like to get rid of the plastic in my brackish tank. However, there are no local stores that carry brackish plants. Since I am in the middle of a move I figured now would be the best time to try out an online order since my fish won't be in the tank for a few weeks and thus not exposed to immediate problems in the tank. So my question is, do you have recommendations for ordering online? I know most peole suggest staying away from this, but since it seems like the only option for live brackish plants, I'd really like to explore the possibility. So any suggestions for trusted web sites would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Kaila

Thanks so much Joe! The link which gives many brackish types of plants was helpful. Now I just need a trustworthy website that sells them ; )

My experience is that most FW plants do not do well above 1.002, and most "salt tolerant" plants above 1.005. I have had the best luck with water sprite and another with big leaves who's name I forget, but is listed in one of my lasts post in my thread below.

Good luck and pics when done!
