do the flounders have to be brackish??? we just got some in and i have no clue about them

Depends on the Flounder. Some are strictly fresh, some marine and some are both. As far as I have researched my particular species, they should start in fresh and transition to brackish and then to full marine as they mature. These stay fairly small and only grow to about 3"-4". They prefer Sand as a substrate and cooler temperatures. They eat bloodworms, brine shrimp and a tiny bit of flake food. Gotta feed them after lights out sometimes so they get enough to eat.

Not sure. I got it with a huge turtle in it and a piece of driftwood the size of my car.

Eventually I'm going to upgrade to a 125 and go full marine with these fish, hopefully a reef setup.

awww...nice setup, i just got mine...they have NTHN in the tank >.<!

i dont know what to setup for them....i love ur idea!!
now ur making me want more flounders ^^"

thankz for sharing!

there are some freshwater Amazonian flounders, but most of the ones in the hobby are hogchokers, which would be ok in brackish

Update: The flounders are still doing great. They went for a week without food when I went on vacation. I have a Malaysian Trumpet Snail infestation now but they don't seem to mind.
