Brackish tank filter

I use an XP3 and a Tetra Tec hang on the back filter. I also have a power head at the bottom of the tank for water movement, and a bubble wall. Them more filtration the better! What is the size of the tank?

I need to tap into this question myself. Initially when the salinity was much lower in my tank, I didn't worry about filtration. Now that I keep the salinity much higher 1.020, should I consider changing the filtration?

I currently have a canister filter (700gph?) with a sponge over the intake, in the filter I have ceramic peices for the first chamber, carbon for the second and floss for the third. In the tank I also have two powerheads with sponges over the intake.

Should I consider anything else? At what salinity should I consider using a protein skimmer? Would I need one?

Your set up is just fine. There is really nothing else you should have on there. Protein skimmers are generally used on tanks with corals, and such. If you just had a regular saltwater tank with just fish, they are not nessasary.
