So recently have acquired some allenbatrachus grunnien how ever its spelt it was sold as a Toadfish and was kept in fresh water from what the lfs told me.
Now i had asked him weather or not it was brackish or fw and he said fw. so doing some research around the net. Found some info on these guys and beleive they would be best kept in brackish water. I had thought i read everything about converting to brackish but i was wrong. Ended up putting marine salt to what i believe was 1.010 in a matter of 30 minutes. dissolved it first in a bucket. than added it to the tank. Thought nothing of it, the next day came home to one of the ones i had purchased being dead. Even tho the night before he wasnt eating and would do this weird thing with his mouth. like he was trying to puke.
Anyways came home and took the alive one out and moved him to my freshwater immediately. Now he is breathing slowly, ive been keeping an eye on him. all i wanted to do was keep them health but didnt take the time to look it up. What should i do with the one i have now? leave him in the fw for a couple nights?
