Brackish?

Do madagascar cichlids require brackish water? I read an article that said the adults will thrive in brackish water..

I've read,that Paratialapia p. can live in brackish waters. I keep mine in freshwater & so do others I know of. There are some fish species, that would migrate to brackish as they mature, but you would need to look up the exact species requirements.
Remember, your plant's if you got any, won't like salt!
