My 55 gallon Brakish tank has a algae and green water problem
I tried nerite snails and they (selectively) got rid of some of the algae but the greenish colored water remains,
I do make water changes 1-2 times every other week. I wish there were salt water plecos, my fresh water tank is spotless, my adult pleco eats ANY algae in that tank and eliminated my nasty hair algae problem, ( I didnt know that would eat hair algae, because I also had young plecos in the freshwater tank for a year and the never ate the hair algae. but soon as put that king sized pleco in there, all gone)

thanks for any suggestions

What's in your tank? How big? What are you feeding them? Parametrs?

@fishmamma that will only help with green water but not the algae growing on the glass and rocks
@Pufferpunk: 55 gallon 2 dragon gobys some crabs and a Colombian catfish, salt 1.010, two of these filters on it

and many nerite snails. (young) as for food, mostly shrimp pellets and mealworms

I like that filter, it has lasted me a long time on a few of my tanks. Is your tank in the path of sunlight? What kinds of plants are you growing? What do you have for substrate?

Some questions are for my own curiosity. I would suggest a water change every 3-4 days for two weeks to see if that clears up the water. In turn, with the clearer water, that might benefit the algea problem.
