today i was so bored and was looking at some broken trees branches right in front of my house. i was wondering is it safe to put into my tank?

NO Not safe. Broken branches are still uncured green wood and the sap and viable cell tissues will promote bacterial/algae blooms and dump tannins into your tank.

If fallen branches would have been a viable alternative, no one would subject themselves to the dirty wet conditions inherent in collecting cured driftwood.

depends on the type of tree. Conifers are high in resin & turpentine. Cedars will bleed tanins into the water until the end of forever. Most tree branches are harmless though.
