So I scored 5 1-1.5" juvies yesterday and I was wondering if anyone (ewurm) knew what they like to eat. it looks like all they want to do is hide out, and climb all over each other. I put some sinking krill, flakes and cichlid pellets in, but I didn't see them eat any. I also added some small chunks of cucumber this morning, as I have read that they like it. I heard them clicking this morning, so they are probably hungry. I wanted to get them some food today and was wondering if anyone could recommend some prepared foods for the little guys. Thanks in advance...P.S. They may be my new favorite fish. They are so funny to watch.

I can only find 2 of them now!!! They are either hiding, or my JD made a snack out of them. Over the weekend I witnessed my JD snatch one up. He then proceeded to swim around with just the tail hanging out. He then spit him out after 15 minutes. The CL had some damage to his face, but he was alive. I haven't seen him in 2-3 days now either. I noticed that they hide in my mopani wood, but only see 2 at a time. Weird...

They have a bad spine that will choke your jd...

Probably hiding. Do you have driftwood in there?

I sure do. I know about the spine. Is it possible that they hide ALL the time? Maybe I see all of them, but just two at a time? There is a hole in the driftwood that they go in. I don't know how big it is. I came home one day and I thought they were all gone. I even took the driftwood out for a second to see if they were under it, not in it. This is so odd. Is it possible my JD ate them without getting shanked?

If you can try to move the loaches or the JD. When I put my guys in my AC tank my Front began hunting them. Luckily he didn't get any and I was able to net the loaches and put them in the sump. That was the best thing for them since they have there own space and can get plenty of food regularly. Small loaches of that size need plenty of food since they are super active. Wurms blog is the best for feeding tips and advise. Hope all is well. Good Luck.
