Just picked up 2 Pbass, Ill get pics up later they are being shy tonight. They are about 4" as of now and one has been eating great. I put another feeder in the tank for the other, it disapeared while we were at dinner, and I dont know who ate it.

Just wondering how many feeders you guys started feeding your bass? How long before pellet training?

Another question, they are in a 75g for now. When they get bigger they'll be in a 200g. But would you guys use a powerhead in a 75 or not? Right now I have it set up with a sponge on the intake to work as a filter, and to create a current in the tank. I figure these fish are from rivers and are used to current. Is this just stressing my fish out?

I figure Ill never have enough money to go to brazil and catch one of these bad boys on a fly rod. So next best thing is keeping them.

I love the bass I chose, they had 6 at the LFS and I checked everyone closely. I tried so hard to take pics but they really arnt fond of me right now.

Thanks guys I love the forum so much, but its making me spend too much money.

Well I just bought them tonight and I want to make sure they eat what they are used to first. They arnt that agressive unless the feeder was really active, so Im worried they wouldnt eat a shrimp or tilapia. But I wouldnt know. Thanks for the suggestion.

The powerhead is good. But you should add another filter as well. Always good to have a back up.

As far as temp it should be around 86. Heavily oxygenated water and frequent water changes....atleast 30% once a week.

Awesome, I have 2 other hang on the back filters running as well. When I did the math I was way over the filtered gallons per hour that was recomended.

Thanks for the suggestion, Im gonna raise the temp a couple degrees. I got a couple air stones in there now, trying to oxygenate as best as I can. The filters oxygenate as well and so does the powerhead if I hook up an air line to it. But then its so loud and disturbs the tank.

Thanks again guys any more tips would be great.

Add some aquarium salt as well, no need to do 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons. I only do that in my QT tank when I have a sick fish, I usually do 1 tablespoon for every 10 gallons and have just recently picked up solar salt from Lowe's. Was using API's stuff like a fool for two years!

Also want to reiterate what these guys have already said, best to get them off live unless you bred the feeders yourself or have QT them for over 2 weeks.

Im working on getting them off live ASAP. They are both eating well, I just hope they like the shrimp or tilapia.

They are still really shy and dart off when I come into the room. Im sure they are still stressed from the move, plus Ive been moving stuff and hooking up air lines in the tank, which they really do not like.

But thanks guys, Im gonna add some salt just so no Ick or anything pops up.
