I've got a 56 gallon tank with about 7 armour catfish. Six are the raphael vareties, two awesome feather fin, one callichtys callichtys, in the tank now is floating salvanies, anubias, cpmpact sword and water sprites. Is brazilian pennywort good for ridding nitrates wanting to add three penny worts to tank

any plant will suck up some nitrates but you should never rely on it. large water changes are the only way to go. catfish are some of the dirtiest fish you can put into a tank. if you must have them you must pay the price and keep up with the wc's.
I'm not looking to do without water changes, I usually change about 5 gallon with light gravel vacuuming every other day just wanted extra filtration to help with water quality! It never hurt with extra filtration just would like more on nature side
