So my plan is to build myself a glass tank. I am ordering the glass from a local business. The tank dimensions will be 48 " long 24 " wide and 22 " high. This will be my first tank build so of course I have a few questions and could use all the tips I can get . :) I used the glass thickness calculations and it advised me to go between 12 mm and 15 mm thickness is this correct ? do any of you have a silicone brand that you recommend ? And what type of clamps should I be using to do the job correctly ? I will be bracing the top just to be on the safe side and for the practice of course . I have bigger plans in the future but for now I need to make a new home for my paratilapia . and I have a fx5 just sitting around and collecting dust.

Look forward to seeing this progress :)

I will update as the progress goes along . hopefully I get the glass ordered by Wednesday.

15mm Wil be thick enough without a brace and I use the Mastercraft clamps from canadian tire. Either the 90 degree corner clamps or some 36 inch bar clamps and tape the edges.
I personally like using scs 1200 silicone
