Looks like another inconsiderate person has dumped snake heads into the local lake near me. Apparently on April 19th a man caught at snake at Lake Wylie, South Carolina. The fish measured about 31 inchs and weighed about 12 pounds. From what the article says is that this is like the second time this has happend in the past 2 years or so since 2007. Welp boys looks like I might have to do some snake head fishing this summer. This is really going to devastate Lake Wylie its bad overfished anyways so this is going to further hurt the natural wildlife there even more. I know some of you on here are from the Charlotte area so this is pretty relevant to you guys. Heres the link to the article: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/breaking/story/679791.html

Was it an C. Argus? It's possible that no one released anymore and they just started making their way down there now.

This story has both pro and con to it.

I watched a movie about snakeheads last night. Some of them were over eight feet long and ate people. The moral of the movie was don't release snakeheads then fill the lake with human growth hormone.

Unfortunately, it was a pretty bad movie on Chiller. The snakeheads looked pretty fake but the terrible acting more than made up for it. :D

I see the "con" but what's the "pro?"

Pro: People have a good idea on where to fish for snakeheads now.

Why is it that aquarists are always blamed and never the anglers who just so happen to find the SH fun to fish for?

Are there any documented cases of people being caught releasing fish of any type?
