As some of you are aware I've been posting some of my artwork up in the "unofficial artwork of the week" thread. My choice of pictures has solely come from the millions upon millions of reference photos on line.
I've always been a nature lover and have watched countless thousands of documentaries ever since i was a child. I thought I had a fair handle on what creatures were out there. How wrong I was. Some of the creatures I've come across i have never seen before and have been truly staggered by their beauty.
We can all add our favourites to this thread anytime we come across something that visually just takes your breath away the moment you see it. Yes, some of the animals aren't like that all the time, many will just be males in breeding dress for example, but not all of them, some are like that all the time!
So come on, pay tribute to the most beautiful creatures on the planet. I'll get us started with a few. But honestly, I haven't even scratched the surface of what's out there.
In no particular order we have, the gouldian Finch, the surge wrasse, the keel billed toucan, the red eyed tree frog, the sun conure
Jexnell
, the Californian red sided garter snake and the crenicichla Rosemarie.
