Forgive me if I'm posting on the wrong forum. I'm looking for hobbyist breeders of SA/CA cichlids, particularly of Viejas, Geophagus, and EBJD. Would you guys point me to the reputable breeders that I can keep an eye out for to purchase from? Thank you very much for your help.

This section is okay but probably could have gone to Marketplace.
I cant think of any hobbyist breeders of those fish on this site but I recommend http://cichlidsoftheamericas.com as a breeder of CA/SA cichlids. He currently has a variety of vieja and many others...no geos or EBJD though. Minimum order of $100 btw

I agree with Mitch.
IMO the best way to get breeding stock is to buy a group of juvies, from a reputable vender like COA, grow them out together and allow them to pair up on their own, usually at about 2 or 3 years old with Vieja.
For breeding Vieja it would be best to get the largest tank possible, and when a pair forms cordon them off from the others, (a tank of something around 300 gallons)
I have had Vieja spawn in tanks as small as 150 gallons, but they were the only 2 in tank.
Geo's are a bit easier, in that they can live as a group in something as small as 150 gallons, and when a pair forms, it can be move to a 75 or eve a 55 to spawn.

I highly recommend Rob Johnston (Lincs Fish) who operates through a Facebook account.
He brings fish in from Cichlids of the Americas and other reputable sources and I have only good things to say about Rob.
He just posted a new list from COTA, so good timing.
