I need to pic your brains. please list your breeding experience with the following information. If you don't mind list it as it will be easier for me to chart.

1)Kind of ray

2) Size of rays at birth/ both adults and juvi's

3) Water temperatures.

4) How long from conception to birth

5) How many pups?

1. motoros
2. 3.5 to 4.5 inches
3. 82-84 degrees, closer to cooler.
4. about 85 days
5. 5 pups. 2f/3m

doing it again in 2 mos!!!

My motoros have bred as small as 14", all pup out around a 4" disc size. I had a female that was 90 days like clock work - most of my motoros were between 88-94 days. New moms had litters of 2-3, aged females as many as 9 or so in one littler. Water was in between 77-83F for all of them, pH around 7.0, no nitrite, nitrate as low as 10ppm to as high as 70ppm depending on the system they were in.

My leos bred at about 12" disc size with pups being about 3". She held them for about 97 days (guessed based on observed copulation). Litter size was usually 3 or 4. Water parameters were the same but maintained lower nitrates for the most part. A temp swing (dropped 7 degrees for one week) started the breeding behavior.

Hens, castrix and falks as well, but I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head.

This is a good idea. I have a spreadsheet that I have been keeping for a couple of years now with this type of information in it. Would it be possible to create one and pin it on MFK so that the information can be added as litters are born?

Waldo....send me your email address and I will send you my form and data.
