Breeding Africans

Just a quick question. Do different Africans breed together or do electric yellows only breed with electric yellows? I'm new to Mbuna and this question is purely out of curiousity. Any info is greatly appretiated. Thanks!

Most mbuna can and will hybridize. This is a common problem when keeping them.

I realize there are other factors involved, I was just wondering if they would breed during good conditions. Thanks for the info everybody. Its a big help!

also, be aware that aggression can greatly increase during breeding. some species will kill during breeding, such as neolamprologus brichardis

welcome to Malawi! So far ive only had same species breeding with yellow labs and kenyi thats not to say some cool hybrid couldnt happen. Thats just my personal experience.
