Hey guys,
Whats the trick to breeding angels. I have a mated pair and I've had about 6 clutches of eggs. So far I've had about 3 wigglers survive up to a week, but most of the time the parents eat the eggs within a day or two. The 3 survivors I had were when I moved the slate into another tank treated with methylene blue which had 3 airstones in in within 2 inches of the eggs. They died within a week though. What's the trick here, should I move the parents after 2 days maybe? I'm clueless here, but my lfs is ready to do business if I can get them to live and I'd like to start dealing with them on a new level. All tips welcome. TY.

You should take the eggs to incubate in a jar or another tank with the same water the pair is in. When they hatch, they won't eat until they start to swim. That is when you feed them baby brine shrimp. Live baby brine shrimps are the best because they will last longer in the tank. Frozen will go bad fast if not eaten right away. Sometimes crushed flake food works but I always used live baby brine shrimps. You will have to learn how to hatch them before the baby angels swim. You will have to make new ones on a schedule. The bbs are only good for so long after hatching. So you have to have 2 or 3 different bbs going at the same time. You have to time it. The bbs starts to hatch in 24 hour and fully hatch in another 12 hours. Of course the bbs have to be hatched in about 80 degree, with proper gravity in the salt water, and medium aeration without an air stone. The baby fishes have to be fed twice a day at least. There is a lot to learn to get it right. It is a matter of trying different things and learning. Good Luck.
