breeding aro"s

Extremely difficult. I assume you have a Scleropages Saratoga. These are what I am lead to believe some of the hardest of all arowana's to breed. They need to be 3-5 years of age and these fish are immaterial meaning you cannot tell the sexes untill they breed.

i think its pretty much pointless to breed aros unless theyre asians or youre just trying to make some quick cash. youre gonna have a large enough fish for your aquarium plus a bunch of babies that will grow up to be just as large. where are you gonna put those?

since your in aus could you not build a large pond outside and try it in that ? i think it would be a hell of a lot easier in a large pond than a tank

Considering the costs to import silver or black aros into aust. Breeding either could be quite profitable. Having a pond would be your best set though, lots of room will be needed.

Yes i agree i would definetly go with the likes of a pond, im sure i had some relatives that tried this, haven't heard if they succeeded or not though :(
