Alright, if you went and got a pair of asians and happend to get them courting and breeding, what would be the value of the young? If you don't have the papers or chips for them does it make the fish useless because if fish and game caught you with unchipped/no paper fish then they would have no proof of where they came from. Or is there a way around this?

To sell in any country that observes the CITES restrictions, you'd need to have all aros chipped and certified. To sell locally, you need to check canadian laws. At the very least document and photograph any spawns and growouts.

Interesting question. I would assume if fish & game caught u, they would assume it came from the wild since it is unchipped/cert. Here in SEA, there are quite a number of backyard breeders who are successful. They are called backyard breeders since they do not have cites licensing. Some would sell them locally at below market price. Some would sell them to farms I have been told who then will chip it. If the breeders are chipped & certified & there is a good relation with the farm who the breeders came from, I have been told it is possible to legally certify them provided the farm & gov. officials are there to witness the event etc.
