Breeding asiatica

Hey guys, just wanna ask, when would channa asiatica be ready to breed? Is there any signs that they are ready to breed?

Most asiatica are subtropical. So the biggest chance with forming a couple of a subtropical variety should be after the "winter". Simulated winter should be 6-8 weeks of less till no food , less light and a bit lower temperatures and no water changes.

Ohh, I don’t have winter in my country, but the water temperature is quite cold and the lighting is quite dim as well. I did a water change two days ago and added a spawning trigger thing to the tank

If I’m not wrong about the gender, but the male is 16 cm and the female is about 18-19 cm. Will they still breed if I put them together?
