Does anyone know if bala sharks can breed in captivity, b/c my 2 balas are always rubbing on each other. Just wandering:)

Even though they are rubbing together, they must be pretty huge to be bred, probably at least 11" or 12''. Anybody know if it's been done?

"It is an Egg scatterer and has been reported to have been bred in the aquarium."

"Egg layer, not known to breed in aquaria, but has been commercially bred in muddy ponds in SE Asia. "

"Little is known about the breeding habits of the Bala Shark, though they are an egg scatterer. They have been reported to have bred in the aquarium, but are not yet bred commercially."

mine rub on eachother when they are done eating... i think its because thery are happy lol

balas require a large pond of atleast 12'/4'/3'
i heard of bala sharks being bred in INDIA in a place called CHENNAI,
have never seen them personally but have heard about it,
though i had seen a few large bala sharks in very large ponds and of a very large size ,around 14-16"
