So i was doing a little bit of research on betta breeding and it's something i might plan to do next semester, when introducing the fish I have one of those small beta containers that the middle plastic part comes out but the plastic part is clear would that be okay to use then introduce them into the tank after 1-3 days of seeing each other?

also can I use a tank that has no substrate in it? just a hiding place for the female and a ton of floating plants for the fry to hide in?

can the introduction water be colder than the water they are going to breed in?

best not to go from hot to cold as this causes shock. fine to go from cold to hot (within reason)

thats what i meant :P the introductory tank is going to be about room temperature as the breeding tank which i will place them in after 10 days is going to be around 80 degrees

I am actually trying a new style of breeding them I will make a thread sometime. Just a little teaser is that it involves two F per M and... Well it was a teaser can't reveal too much. It must be a success before I post it.
