I hear they are similar to snakeheads to keep.

They're very similar anatomically and behaviorally as well, I had a debate with another forum member about whether them or snakeheads make better pets. I can't actually remember which side I was defending, I think the bowfin because you wouldn't need a heater

I’ve seen small ones for a sale a couple times. I think predator fins had some not long ago.
I thought about trying one a few times.
I didn’t have the space for one at the time.(still don’t) maybe one day

Do you need a native permit to keep one (in the USA)? I don't recall the laws for them but I don't believe they're invasive anywhere, though they probably could be.
