2ltr coke bottle and an air line is all thats needed to hatch them. Google 'DIY Brine shrimp hatchery' there are loads of articles on how to make one, or you could buy a kit, I got one from Drs Foster & Smith http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+7954+4445&pcatid=4445
and you can buy the eggs as well (don't buy the 'Hatch mix' it's too expensive and is jus eggs and salt - use 2 tbs of aquarium salt for each hatch in the 2 ltr bottle).
Breeding brine shrimp is an excellant idea...What is the most common way of getting your own stock is by purchasing brine shrimp eggs.....The eggs hatch out wihtin 24-20 hours.........Because of their fresh yolk sacks, the young are actually more nutritious than that of the adults..........It is easy to hatch BBS(baby brine shrimp).........Most local stores sell 2 liter hatcheries, at a cost of only less than $10, these hatcheries are well worth the purchase..........As for actually breeding the adults, I personally beleive that starting off from a tube of $3 eggs is way more cost effecient........
Yes, I hatch BBS for my Endler fry but the Mothers love them as well, if I have any left over at the end of the day I dump them in my community tank and even my 4" Angel tucks into them (once he's realised they're food and not bubbles), nice treat!
