Hey everyone. Well, my 5 inch female SRD laid eggs again. It's funny. I have her and a 4 inch SRD in a 30 gallon tank to see if they would breed. I had a terra cotta tile for her to lay her eggs on but she never did. However, I went and bought a terra cotta pot today and took the tile out this morning and put in the pot. I came home from work and took a close look and their were eggs in the pot! Maybe because the pot feels safer for the eggs. The big problem I'm having is the Nitrite levels. I've been changing 1/2 the water every 2 days but the Nitrites are still high about 2.0 ppm. The fish seem to be very healthy, eating, chasing my finger. The tank has been set up for about 2 months now before I got the flowerhorns. I used to have angelfish in it and the tank is cycled but I still don't know what's wrong. Even changing half the water every 2 days, a couple of hours laterbthe Nitrites are high again. Is the tank going through a mini-cycle? Ammonia 0, Nitrites 2ppm. Nitrate 20. Also, since the nitrites are high, can I do smaller water changes with the eggs in the tank? What should I do? Thanks, Ed.

Anyone?
