Breeding Channa Bleheri

Did a search on MFK but couldnt find anything. Hopefully you guys can help. My buddies got 5 Rainbows. Each about 3-4 inches. Firstly, how do you sex Rainbow SH's? And second, how long would he have to wait before they started pairing up?

let em pair up, seperate pair, lower temp and feeding gradually for a month or so,(simulates winter in india) put in lots of plants, slowly up temp and feeding. they'll build a nest and waalaah. you sex blerhi by head shape for sure and i've heard color too, i don't personally know about color though. also, check out snakeheads.org. hope that helps.
males have wide head, slim body. females have smaller head and fatter body. look at them from above!
and bring me some if you ever come to cali...

How big do the bleheri have to be before they can breed because mine are about 5 inchs possibly alil bigger, are they ready... Can i simulate a winter soon?
