currently have a 10*5*3 foot tank and want to start breeding chilli red arowanas, want to know-
1) weather they can breed in my tank
2)what kind of conditions i should keep them under for breeding
3)what type of food i should feed them on
4)and the cost of a breeding pair
i have already bred some silver aros but only in a pond,im not sure weather i can breed them in a tank,so please tell weather it will work out or not.

hello.. im no expert but from what i've read..

1) no i doubt they will breed in a tank but this might be a useful read..

http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/Hiroshi_Azuma_BreedingAsianArowana.html

2) and 3) might be answered reading the above article

4) check if it is legal to get the fish into india.. the fish is on the cites list.. most of the aros.. silver including are brought into india illegally.. will def cost you an arm and a leg and i doubt you will get breeding pairs.. prob you gotta buy some 10 to 15 juvenile chilli reds.. and then maybe you might get a pair.. but then again if you end up getting all from the same parent.. you might not have a great brood later on even if they breed..

you've bred silvers??!!! could you please post some pics of your setup.. what you did etc etc.. all the best.. cheers

Wow you bred silver aros.

Would love to see your huge tank, what are you doing for filtration?
