Any information I've found says a large pond is required...not sure on water parameters. Sexing them is also difficult. I've read something awhile ago that says they lay eggs on smooth rocks, but recently found another article saying that they lay eggs in floating plants. The male will tend to the eggs. Eggs hatch in about a week and the fry needs to be moved.
