The only thing is I already have breed bristle nose and have them in a 20 long tank

If zebra pleco is out, than I say some sort of hypancistrus is worth breeding in the 40g

L333, l66s, and l201s stay even smaller at around 3 to 4"

If you are wanting to sell the fish the best thing to get in Bristle noses, the market for them is never ending.
