Get a larger male, take her out, rearrange the tank, then put in the male. Then let the male establish territory. Then about a day after he's in. Drop in the female. What size tank? If its your 10 gallon that's why.. they need space. She will defend it until she gets more space. Put the female in a tank for the 1 day. I reccomend one day so that the make fully establishes territory. It can be done in way less though.

Agreed. Angry convicts in a 10g equate to dead fish, one way or the other. If you're insistent, you need to overcrowd to get a breeding pair. Then you can rehome the excluded. Even then, you'll have to keep a strict eye on them for the first few spawns. They calm down after that.

I had the same problem before, a full sized male solved the issue.

Who would have thought that a cute little girl, could be such a blood thirsty killer .

Spike :)

Instead of replacing the males over and over have you considered replacing the 1 female?

+1

Larger males aren't easy to find, but they are not impossible. Your female looks around 3 inches, so I'd get at least a 4 inch male.
