I want to breed dwarf clawed frogs to use as feeders. Has anyone done this before? How hard is it, any special food needed?

So far the plan is to throw six of them in a 10 gallon stuffed with hornwort and java moss and let them "go at it".

One of the biggest problems I'm having is finding the suckers. Everyone seems to have the large African clawed frogs, but not the dwarfs.:irked:

I was going to feed them to my ropefish. Dwarf clawed frogs make up a good chunk of ropefish diet in the wild.

there's actually a huge difference between african dwarf frogs and clawed frogs. Make sure that you steer as far away from the clawed frogs as possible as they'll do major damage to your ropefish while trying not to be eaten.

I believe the ones you're looking for and the ones that are the natural food are Hymenochirus boettgeri. Clawed frogs are Xenopus Laevis. Be wary of LFS mislabeling.

I dont think they are that hard. You can do a google search too. I think a real problem though is feeding the babies. They are so small and its difficullt to keep them alive. Ive read up a little on them but I can remember all the exact details.
