Hi,
I am getting ready to set up a new aquarium but unfortunately due to circumstances I am forced to keep it small. I recently read and article on breeding dwarf puffers (Carinotetraodon travancoricus) and thought that would be a great setup with my limitations. I am planing a ten to twenty gallon planted tank with 1 male and 2 females. If anyone out there has any experience on this I would welcome all advice.

if you want 3 of them, but have limited room, do them the courtesy of the biggest tank setup you can give them. esp. if you want them to breed eventually.

Yes, I chose these fish because I know I'm really restricted. The three puffers would be the only fish in the tank. The one account I've heard of dwarf puffers breeding in captivity was in a ten gallon on a bed of java moss. I'm pushing for the biggest I can fit right now.

i have 1 male 2 females in a 10 gallon. with lots of cover. they still nip at each other but nothing serious. i also have a bamboo shrimp in there, hes always near the filter return and hes like 6-7 times bigger then them so they leave him alone.

you can check dwarfpuffers.com for a detailed breeding writeup someone did.
