Is it True that the spwan of a pair of Electric Blue Jack Dempsey's are geneticlly weaker than the spwan of a male electric blue and a normal female jack demsey???????

yes sir it is. If you get two electric blues to successfully breed, then the offspring won't last more than a few days typically. Which is why they need to be bred with a regular dempsey. Then the off spring of these two have to be bred back to the blue dempsey in order to produce that blue dempsey color trait. :)

check out the big brain on Benfica......

Oh, a blue JD x normal JD pair will produce 100% normal-looking blue-bearing JDs. These must spawn with a blue (50% normal - 50% blue offspring) or a sibling (25% blue - 75% normal offspring) in order to get blue babys. Gotta be patient... :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

These poor dempseys are more inbreed than an appalachian farmer. They really need to be outbred with black dempsey to strenghten the strain. I've had 5 in the past 6 months in perfect water conditions and they keep dieing. I now only have one left. BTW he's looks like he's got more black than the others did, and knock on wood he's doing well.

I read on cichlid forum by a guy who is breeding blue demps that female blue dempsey's are very rare.
They breed a blue to a normal, then the offspring back to the blue to produce blue demps
