I am interested in breeding Electric Yellow Cichlids
I know they are Mouthbrooders
I am going to raise a group
But don't know what two do after that
Thanks

:newbie: :welcome: What I do is leave the female to swim in the tank for about a week then I catch her and put her into a breeding net hanging off the side of the tank. I leave her there till she spits the fry out. I feed her, at the same frequency I feed the fry, for about 3 days then release her back into the main tank. Caeruleus breed quite easily and quite regularly once they start.
Try to get a 1-2 males with 3-4 females. They don't tend to be too aggressive. Try and get 2 males of the same size. Good luck.:naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

whats the difference Males and females

Virtually nothing. They are not sexually dimorphic. The male lips may appear larger and as most males do, they will display their fins and pursue females. Another behavior I've seen in my males is they "fight" which looks like a fast game of "grab-fin" with other males

The black trim on my males seem more pronounced generally then my females. Males are generally larger, testosterone will have this effect.
